An artisan-based furniture company, Stillmade is a leading voice in the landscape of new American furniture designers and manufacturers. Our mission is to work local, slow, and with integrity – blending design, engineering, and bespoke fabrication all under one studio.
Designing and engineering each product is a process that is never quite complete. Continuing to perfect the craft, process, and form is an integral part of our everyday work. One that isn’t possible with even the best production manufacturers. Designers work hand-in-hand with fabricators and each new design culminates in a full-scale prototype.
Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, Stillmade’s dedicated workshop produces each piece from start to finish. With any process not done in our shop, we partner with some of New York’s leading artists and craftspeople to ensure components that we don’t specialize in are still finished to the same standard that we hold for ourselves.
Stillmade was founded by creative director Paul Mignogna in 2013 with the dream of building on the rich tradition of American furniture design. Coincidentally, this endeavor coincided with an explosion of a burgeoning “maker” scene in which New York was at the epicenter. With changing consumer attitudes toward quality and locally sourced work, Stillmade has been able to grow into a brand recognized nationally for its timeless design and unwavering regard for craft.
